Ecoplexus’ 240 Megawatt Oregon solar project receives final permit approval

SAN FRANCISCO, CA. (Jan 20, 2023) Ecoplexus announced that its proposed Hayden Solar and Battery Storage Energy Center has received its final required permit from Klamath County, Oregon.  The County permit completes a comprehensive set of permit reviews, which also included reviews and permits from the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, and a nationwide permit from the US Army Corps or Engineers. Based on a comprehensive review of the record, Klamath County found that the project complies with all required laws, and minimizes or mitigates, to the maximum extent practicable, potential significant adverse environmental impacts to the surrounding area.

The Hayden solar and storage project is a proposed 240 MW solar, integrated with a 640 MW hour battery storage, facility located on 700 acres in Klammoth County in Oregon, which will provide significant long-term benefits to the County and State for several decades. Through the approved Host Community Agreements, the project is expected to contribute significant benefits to local taxing jurisdictions over its 35-plus year lifespan.

The project will be one the largest solar and battery storage projects in Oregon projects  when completed, requiring an investment of over $340 million dollars. This approval culminates a multi-year, detailed analysis and review of the biological, cultural and socio-economical effects of the project. The project is expected to complete construction and be online by the end of 2026.
