Ecoplexus currently has employees in San Francisco CA, Dallas TX and New York NY as well as International offices in Japan, Turkey and Thailand. The EcoPlexus project teams have competed, or have under construction, over fifty (50) MWs of projects, and include Licensed General Contractors (B), Licensed Electrical Contractors (C-10), Specialty Solar Contractors (C-46), and NABCEP certified professionals.
The finance team has originated over ($100m) one hundred million in projects to date under Power Purchase Agreements with excellent returns for investors and banks. The principals of Ecoplexus have extensive experience in energy services, electricity markets, and finance.
John Gorman - CEO
Mr. Gorman has 20 years of business experience, 14 of those as COO or CEO of dynamic growth companies.
Prior to founding Ecoplexus, previous roles were as CEO of a mobile phone software and service provider in Beijing, China. Founder and COO of Servista Ltd., a UK based provider of outsourced business process and IT solutions to some of the largest competitors in the UK retail electricity, gas and telecommunications industries.
He was COO of the US company Bailey Street Holdings, after it was spun out and purchased from the listed retailer The Bombay Company. Bailey Street is a contract designer of accent furniture with manufacturing in Asia and clients globally.
Prior to his MBA, he worked in software product management and national account development roles for Triad Systems Inc. and Computer Associates. He has an MBA from London Business School.
Erik Stuebe - President
Mr. Stuebe has led the business development and finance efforts of Ecoplexus from its start. Mr. Stuebe has 20+ years of business experience in corporate finance and general management.
Prior to founding Ecoplexus, Mr. Stuebe started and grew a consumer products company to $25 million in sales. He also formerly worked at Kidder, Peabody in investment banking and Trammell Crow Company in real estate development.
Mr. Stuebe is a graduate of Harvard Business School and holds a BS in Finance from the University of Minnesota.
Ed Campaniello - VP Finance
Mr. Campaniello has over 15 years of corporate and project finance experience. Mr. Campaniello was founder of Resource Innovation, a clean energy project finance advisor to clients including Recurrent Energy and Medley Capital. He has held senior management and finance roles with several energy finance and technology firms including Solar Mosaic and Agilewaves. He was the founder of Semetric Development, an environmental management software provider acquired by Ecos Technologies. He was previously with Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking Department, working with client companies that successfully raised over $2.5 billion in debt and equity capital. He holds an MBA from the Haas School at UC Berkeley and a BA from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Masaru Sakamoto - SVP Asia/Japan
Mas Sakamoto is an experienced executive in international and new business development. Over his career, he has been involved in strategic planning, venture capital investment, new business incubation and cross border business operations with P&L responsibilities.
He was a Senior Executive for NEC Corporation in the US and Latin America. He has also held numerous board seats with companies such as Vidient Systems, Niteo Partners, The Open Group, and The Enterprise Network..
He has been quoted in numerous publications, guest lecturer at NYU and UC Berkeley, and guest speaker/panelist at several industry conferences. He graduated from Keio University (BA Economics) and Harvard Business School.
Akihito Ogino - VP Japan
Mr Ogino is a skilled and experienced executive in business development and private equity.
Over his career, he has been involved in buy-out investments, venture capital investments, business incubation and strategic consulting. He has also managed many start-ups such as Wellness Data, NRM Publishing, Fortec, Ripplex and Music Securities.
He has been a member of the committee on Information Technology Industry Research for The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. He graduated from the University of Tokyo (BA in Law) and Keio Business School (MBA)
Kaya Tarhan - VP Business Development
Mr. Tarhan has over 19 years of business experience, most recently as Development Director of the Turkish operations of Renewable Energy Systems Ltd., a leading global renewable energy company.
As Development Director of RES, Mr. Tarhan led all the company’s activities in Turkey, acquiring and then selling a 750MW wind energy license portfolio at a significant rate of return. Mr. Tarhan lead the team in developing a further 1000MW pipeline of solar and wind projects.
Prior to joining RES, Mr. Tarhan served for nine years as an executive with The ERG Group, a leading Turkish conglomerate involved in the energy sector, where he was responsible for various efforts in connection with the development of the Deriner and Yedigoze hydroelectric power projects as well as various other international business development. He previously was an executive in the US with telecommunications and real estate companies.
Mr. Tarhan holds a BA from the University of Minnesota in International Relations and an MBA from the University of Phoenix, Magna Cum Laude
Bill Brick - Director of Project Development US
Mr. Brick has over 20 years of business development and corporate finance experience.
Before Ecoplexus, he developed and financed distributed generation solar PPAs at Helio Power. He previously co-founded a specialty finance company that served the information technology sector and was VP corporate development of an Internet-based finance company.
He was also on the early leadership team of Oracle’s $1.5 billion customer financing unit where he built financing programs and funding vehicles, and led the expansion of the Latin American subsidiary. Mr. Brick has raised over $250 million in structured finance funds and has financed over $3 billion of capital acquisitions in numerous sectors.
He holds an MBA from UC Irvine and a BS in Managerial Economics from UC Davis.
Carlos Valdivia - Director of Business Development US
Mr. Valdivia has more than 15 years of experience in commercial real estate acquisitions, asset management, finance, and direct investing having acted as both a principal and a fiduciary.
Prior to joining Ecoplexus, Mr. Valdivia ran his own commercial real estate consulting and advisory firm, Cornerstone Realty Capital. Prior to Cornerstone, Mr. Valdivia was a Vice President at Prologis (NYSE: PLD), an owner, operator, and developer of industrial real estate around the globe. At Prologis, Mr. Valdivia was responsible for originating, underwriting and valuing over $1.7 billion of real estate investments in industrial, office R&D and retail properties in multiple markets across the U.S., Mexico and Japan.
Mr. Valdivia holds a Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelors of Arts in Economics from Stanford University.
Bill Nevin - Director of Business Development US
Mr. Nevin has over 28 years in real estate & land development working with property owners & developers on a multitude of residential, commercial and multi-use projects. Bill has extensive knowledge in land acquisitions, entitlements and due diligence as part of the forward planning process with real estate.
Bill has worked for such companies as KB Home, Shea Homes and American Tower. Mr. Nevin is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and is a licensed Real Estate Broker
